today I took on two patients by myself after nearly nine months of doing so. after a long day filled with rookie mistakes and feeling dumb, my extremely difficult-to-read nurse looked me in the eyes and said, “you are going to be a great nurse. you are very thorough and really take care of your patients. will you be here tomorrow?” I nearly cried. the anxieties I’ve had of being completely incompetent have definitely been diminished. I’ve got this.
